Generative AI Software Engineer
Location: Remote (Brazil) | Type: Contract | Experience: 3+ years | Pay: $20-$40/hr
About the Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer to build an end-to-end agentic Generative AI system on Google Cloud. You'll work across the backend and frontend of AI-enabled applications, alongside an existing engineering team that's already moving fast.
This is a multi-month, fully remote contract with a crafts-based digital product studio backed by a global strategy consulting parent. Portuguese is preferred.
The key differentiator here is real delivery. If you've shipped GenAI features that production users or clients depend on, not just prototypes, you'll stand out.
What You'll Do
- Build and evolve backend and frontend components of AI-enabled applications
- Develop agentic capabilities such as AI agents, tool use, and orchestration inside a larger GenAI system
- Deploy and run services on GCP, including Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Vertex AI
- Work closely with the existing software engineering team on design and delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience developing production-oriented Generative AI applications
- Comfortable building on both the backend and frontend
- Experience with agentic systems or AI agents is preferred
- GCP familiarity (Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI) is a strong plus, but not required
- Portuguese preferred
- Already uses AI tools in your own development workflow
