Position Summary
The IT Project Coordinator will support the Program Manager and Project Lead in coordinating application owner engagement activities for a Check Point firewall perimeter implementation across AWS and Azure. This role will be responsible for driving stakeholder coordination, outage scheduling, readiness follow-up, and change management activities to help ensure successful cutover execution. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to gain alignment from hesitant or non-responsive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Take direction from the Program Manager and Project Lead to coordinate app owner engagement activities for the Check Point firewall perimeter implementation across AWS and Azure.
- Serve as the primary coordination point for application owners throughout planning, scheduling, readiness, and cutover preparation.
- Partner with individual application owners to align on scope, timing, impacts, expectations, and required support for implementation activities.
- Communicate project objectives, business benefits, and operational value to application owners to build understanding and support for the work.
- Engage with hesitant, skeptical, or non-responsive application owners to gain buy-in, address concerns, and drive timely decisions and action.
- Coordinate and schedule application outage windows with app owners in alignment with project plans, cutover timelines, and dependency requirements.
- Follow up regularly with app owners to confirm readiness, resolve open questions, and ensure milestone commitments are met.
- Ensure application owners have the appropriate business and technical resources available to support testing during cutover weekend.
- Confirm app owner readiness for implementation, including test plans, resource coverage, communications, and escalation paths.
- Support change management activities by preparing stakeholders for upcoming work, setting expectations, and reinforcing implementation readiness requirements.
- Track engagement status, action items, risks, issues, and dependencies across assigned applications.
- Escalate risks, issues, delays, and stakeholder concerns to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of stakeholder communications, outage schedules, readiness checkpoints, and outstanding actions.
- Act with urgency to drive follow-up and keep application owner activities on schedule to support overall program timelines.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience coordinating IT infrastructure, network security, cloud, or firewall-related projects.
- Familiarity with AWS and Azure environments and enterprise implementation or cutover processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with application owners and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical changes in business-friendly terms.
- Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, gain alignment, and navigate resistance or lack of responsiveness.
- Experience with outage scheduling, implementation readiness, cutover coordination, and stakeholder testing support.
- Ability to identify risks early and escalate appropriately.
