About the Job:
BI Developer responsible for delivering well‑defined BI development tasks within a single workstream. Builds pipelines, semantic models and analytical outputs under established patterns and guidance. Supports BI Developers, Analysts and Data Engineers by contributing to modelling, transformation and reporting activities, primarily within Microsoft Fabric.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain semantic models and contribute to BI data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Implement data transformation pipelines aligned to medallion architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold).
- Develop consumption layers such as Power BI datasets, dashboards and reports.
- Apply data quality checks, validation rules and transformation logic.
- Support Fabric deployment pipelines, Git integration and CI/CD processes for BI assets.
- Troubleshoot straightforward modelling, access, refresh or capacity‑related issues and escalate complex problems.
- Collaborate with BI Analysts, Data Engineers and Architects to translate requirements into technical deliverables.
- Maintain documentation, lineage clarity and configuration records.
- Contribute to reusable modelling patterns and good‑practice BI development approaches.
Key Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including workspace configuration, capacity awareness and basic governance principles.
- Ability to build and maintain semantic models and contribute to BI data solutions using Fabric and Power BI.
- Understanding of medallion architecture and modern data modelling patterns.
- Basic experience with data transformation using SQL or Python, and ability to interpret lineage and dependencies.
- Familiarity with Fabric deployment pipelines, Git integration and CI/CD concepts.
- Exposure to Databricks and Azure Synapse as complementary data platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot straightforward platform or modelling issues (access, refresh, capacity signals).
- Clear documentation and communication skills, with strong collaboration across BI and Data Engineering teams.
