Role Description The Senior Software Engineer (Backend / Edge Computing) will design, implement, and maintain backend services and edge computing solutions that power AI-based inspection systems in industrial environments. Day-to-day activities include developing and optimizing APIs and microservices, integrating backend components with hardware and vision systems, and ensuring reliability, performance, and security for edge deployments. The role involves collaborating closely with engineering, data science, and operations teams to translate process requirements into scalable software architectures, troubleshoot production issues, and improve existing solutions. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Joinville, SC, with direct involvement in industrial customer projects and systems deployed on the factory floor. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems concepts. Hands-on experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining production-grade services. Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), using one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go). Experience with edge computing architectures, containerization, and deployment on industrial or resource-constrained environments. Familiarity with APIs, microservices, message queues, and integration with AI/ML or computer vision pipelines. Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), performance tuning, and monitoring/observability tools. Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and document technical decisions and systems. Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field,
